“Popups on screen. Windows Media Player won’t work. Cannot get on the internet. “

I know the answer to this when I look at the ticket and call it then and there. I had good reason to believe it wasn’t a virus or malware popup, because this happens more than one would think.

It’s a horrible truth. People refuse to read. They CAN read but WON’T. The “Popup” was something along the lines of

You need to Activate Windows. You can Activate now or enter Windows in a limited mode.

No…naw…limited mode certainly wouldn’t …limit me would it? And “Activate Windows”…OMG THESE…THESE WORDS. WHY DO I SEE THEM ALL THE TIME! ITS *******’S FAULT AND THATS WHAT WARRANTY IS FOR!

First entry (yay)

Woman comes by, mad. Apparently had been unable to find our store and took at least 30 min of futile searching before calling. This anger was then focused toward my assistant manager. She was returning a video card because her “tech” said it was the wrong card, and couldn’t get it to fit in. He sent her here with the box and a note stating:

Return the box with the receipt and replace it with an AGP PCI Graphics Card. It should be the same price.

Now we try to be as kind and courteous as possible. We’re not the kind of people who go YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG and steal your keyboard to fix it. But we can’t help but facepalm with people who try to pass theirselves off as real “technicians” who to us just seem to be really good at using Google. Remember folks, there is no such thing as an ”AGP PCI” card.

Anyways I digress. We notice the card she is returning is an AGP card. we ask if she has it to bring it inside. The manager pops the card in without issue. With the hostile voice still “Well WHY doesn’t it WORK!?”.

“You see these things here on the motherboard? They’re called capacitors. They exploded. Your motherboard is dead.”
*SIGH* *gets refund* *storms out*

The note is now tapped up on the wall in the techshop area, because…well…its funny.

Well, its not exactly the first time something happened, but it does. Part I was the ant thing. I think they’re termintes….ANYWAY

This is my bedroom door:

Okay, so this is what happened. Middle of the night two nights ago, a hear a small thud. Why It woke me, I don’t know. I couldn’t shut my door the next day, and notice that it was meeting resistance from the carpet. I went to report the door broke, no big deal, take care of it whenever. About two hours later, I went for the thermostat, which was very close to the door. Barefoot, I stepped in wet carpet.

Oh….Shit.

Somehow, both A/C units, mine and the upstair’s neighbor, the drain for it clogged, and as per Sir Isaac Newton’s Law of Gravity and my “Inherent need for a -_-’ moment” theorem, the condensation built up, and leaked. It leaked through not the ceiling, but through a small crack in the door frame (the leak was immediately reported after the “Oh…Shit”. This constant drip of water was absorbed by the wood component of the door (as you can see). All manner of glue was disoved as the beam expanded, and separated.

Thank god my roommate is out of town right now. I don’t have a door for privacy till Monday.
